I am sick of this Google Plus Ghost Town debate.
Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest – they're all here to do our bidding – not vice versa. We should look to each of these platforms and use them for what they do best.
Example: Putting a video inside of Facebook (their engine) is silly when a YouTube video embedded in Facebook gets all the views from Facebook counting towards your video.
Best and highest use of Google Plus is getting something inside of the search engines quickly. Yes, Google is the 800 pound gorilla (of search 1.0) - but there are other players that people actually do search on.
You want to interact with an audience – use Facebook.
You want to interact with a search engine – use Google Plus.
Before you tell me about all the massive interaction you get in Google Plus – show me a similar sized (and type of) audience in Facebook and post the same content there (without paying for promotion) – you'll get at a minimum 10x the engagement.
Prove me wrong.
Get past it / over it – use the best tool for the best job.
