Have You Grabbed Your Google Profile Yet? Will You Grab Your Facebook Username?

by Paul Colligan on June 9, 2009

Listed above is a video at YouTube about grabbing a Google Profile and a Facebook Username. Most feedreaders will include the embed now – but I offer the link just in case.

Google announced profiles a little while ago – and they are getting to be more and more important. If you don’t have yours – you want to get that going very soon. Video shows how. Controlling what picture people see of you when they search for you is always a good thing.

In addition, the Facebook username program will be popping up soon. Video has some details about this as well.

If I learned anything from Stompernet, it is that when you got a brain-dead easy way to get an inbound link – get it.

  • I got mine :) http://www.facebook.com/scott.lovingood and www.twitter.com/scottlovingood

They should be part of anyone's personal branding strategy. If you don't control what people can find out about you on the net, it can have a profound impact on job searches, dating, business deals and many other areas.

  • On your Google profile - you recommend including your email address. Doesn't that open you up to spammers?
    Great Video by the way!
  • Great tips Paul. I can't believe I was able to grab "klezmer" for my Facebook username. It's gonna be huge!
  • Awesome - smart move.
