Social Media Telesummit – Pick The Keynote Topic And Get Full Access Free

by Paul Colligan on January 8, 2009

The 2009 Social Media Telesummit starts next week with the free predictions call program and I wanted to give you a heads up accordingly. I’d also like to give you a chance at a free ticket. Sound good?

It was a great event last year and this year looks to be even more important. The content is solid and the presenters are perfect. I’ll be listening in with everyone else.

This year I’m Keynoting the Social Media Telesummit and, at this point, have no idea what I’m going to talk about.

So here’s what we’re going to do:

Add via comments below your ideal Keynote topic for the event.

I’ll pick one from the list.

And I’ll buy a ticket to the event for the one who submits it.

Sound fair?

I look forward to reading (and presenting on) what you come up with.

Now that, dear friends, is social media.

  • How about:

"The Tao of Social Media: A Harmonious Online Journey"

    Lisa x
  • "Building brand equity through new media"
  • 10 Ways to Market with Video, Social Media and No Budget
  • You could also do a presentation on How To Make All Of Your Social Networking Tie In To Each Other. This presentation would show people how they could integrate their Facebook activities with Myspace, twitter, etc.
  • Here's one.
How to Start Podcasting When You Don't Have a Huge Budget.
I'll even help you put the presentation together if you pick me. :-)

Top 10 Ways to use Social Media to Grow Your Business in Recessionary Times!

Everyone will be looking for ways to grow a business without huge amounts of cash, since money it tight these days. Discuss this subject on both a macro and micro level. You could show them how to "drill down" to the core sector of their business to maximize profits while maintaining current no producing client levels.
  • How to put together a comprehensive social media marketing plan from the plethora of options that exist.

We're a direct sales business fairly new to the social media marketing world, and we need to teach our sales consultants across the country how to put it to work for their businesses. I would love to learn, from the many options available, where the best investments of time lie, and how to make the most of those choices.
  • How about: "Social Media - the new leading edge or a passing fad?"

    Lloyd
  • I'm loving the topics. So hard to choose just one. I don't envy you, Paul. It's going to be a difficult choice, I'd say.

    Any more suggestions?
  • I just realized I better explain further:

“Emerging Trends and Why Social Media Puts You in the Forefront”
    >>>Because that is what customers want...they can see you, hear you, and get to know you better... more directly, more personally, and more often...and if they know, like and trust you...they will be more loyal and more inclined to do business with you.

“Emerging Trends and Why Social Media Puts the Power in the People’s Hands”
...well...unless Twitter is down...or your account gets shut down by an unnamed major social networking site...but otherwise:
    >>>It's all about giving people a voice. Without the printing press, those holding the information had the power. When the new technology arrives, the power gets redistributed. Blogs let people be their own journalist, video sites let people be their own TV host, music sites let people be their own DJ, and micro-blogging lets people announce news on the spot...even before major news stations.

P.S. Last year's event was so good, I've already registered...but...I do have a guest in mind.

Paul, I'd like to see someone put together an efficient social media activity plan--the most productive things to do in a short amount of time. I don't have the 15-hours a day that Gary V. claims to put into social media, so I am looking for the best use of a limited amount of time to establish a social media footprint. So, along the lines of Tim' s 30 ideas in 30 days, I need the 5-10 things I can do in 30-60 minutes a day that will have the greatest impact.

  • I have a topic for you.

"Evolution of Social Media: The use of personal tools for public messages"

Sounds like it right? Facebook was a cool tool to hang with school friends, youtube was about broadcasting your own personal messages, twitter to tell ur friends what ur up to, myspace to link up with your crew... Should I go on?
  • Kelly Holtzclaw
Paul, since this is the year lean-forward entertainment morphs into couch potato entertainment (due to new products like Popcorn and Netgear's Digital Entertainer Elite) I think your keynote should be "Sidestepping Hollywood" or "The New Hollywood" Netflix. Ed Burns straight to ITunes. YouTube HD... what's next?
