Does Anik Have The Right Idea With This Free PPC Classroom Version 2 “Gimmick?” Will You Make A Video For Him?

Posted on 4:30 pm by Paul Colligan

So my buddy Anik Singal is launching his PPC Classroom v2 product in a few weeks and is certainly getting a lot of attention. He deserves it - it’s a killer course.

I’ve seen this done a couple of times with other products but never really thought or commented on it before. If you check out this link you’ll see that Anik is giving away multiple VIP Memberships to PPC Classroom v2 to those who participate in a little contest.

In short, you create a video explaining how much you want the product.

Anik picks his favorite and gives them access to the course for free.

Anik gets a ton of social proof and some penetration in the video sites for far less than he could have ever spent on any other angle.

Is this the ultimate in profiting from UGC (user generated content), or just a cheap ploy?

I’d love your thoughts below.

Hi Paul,

Watching a bunch of videos about how much people want a product is social proof the problem this product solves is a healthy market.

Unless I am mistaken the videos tell me nothing about the product itself (going off what you said, I have not seen the campaign).

I would think offering the product to 20 people at full price with a guarantee of refunding their money if they submit a video testimony of the product after using it would be a better campaign.

That’s a full refund per any testimony, positive or negative.

Watching those videos would provide social proof especially if not all were 100% positive. Nothing is perfect.

I paid an arm and a leg for last years PPC Classroom and never did find the value in it. It was much pricier though, if i remember right $500 to $600 to get in plus an additional $40 or $50 bucks maybe more a month. There were basically no case studies until months later then they were drawn so far apart. I spent enough money after several months and never saw a full case study from start to finish. Most of the testimonials on this years PPC Classroom were bought from past members. Give good testimonial get so many months of PPC Classroom free.

I know that a number of marketers do something like this. And it seems to work for them.

It sure is a way to get UGC. “Ultimate” - hmmm… possibly not for all. The great “guru” marketers do create a lot of hype with it though.

Personally I find testimonials stating how much people WANT a product FAR less convincing than testimonials from product OWNERS.
