Vote For The Topic Of Wednesday’s Show – Stompernet Launch or iPod/Zune Announcements

Live Broadcasting by Ustream

We have two great topics of content for tomorrow’s (Wednesday 9/10) New Media Matters Show: A) The Stompernet.com Launch and B) the recent iPod/Zune announcements.

So, if you’d like to talk about the good, the bad and the ugly of the Stompernet launch (wait till you see what they do tomorrow), let us know in the comments below. If you’d rather chat about Zunes and iPods – we can do that as well.

Just fill out the comments accordingly.

Thanks.

  • Paul,

I also vote for info on the StomperNet launch. As one who took advantage of the offer, I'm interested in your take on it and any stats you may have. I'm also curious about your take on the upsells.

    Thanks.

  • Must agree to Ian - unfortunately.
First had issues with an email address that was declared "invalid". Then with a different one the order did not get processed.
    Not very appealing.

Concerning the large number of upsells Kay mentioned:
That seems to be the "way to go" at present. Offer something free or low priced and then hit them with a number of upsells. I don't like that either. Often it is "You will only see this page once" kind of stuff. Trying to put pressure on people...

Still, I vote for the Stompernet launch.
iPod vs. Zune - you covered that well in your blog.

    Thanks.

Paul, I will miss tomorrow's live show but will look forward to the recording. I hope you will be talking about the StomperNet launch. I have two questions.

!. Since Stompernet made it plain that there would be plenty to go around, why was it necessary to have a specific time for the offer to have gone live? Why didn't they permit pre-sales or something similar so that customers could have placed an order with the understanding that the advance order would be processed when the offer was live.

    2. As crazy as it sounds, I was surprised by all of the upsales. I wasn't offended, but the method didn't work for me. I purchased the first one which was a trial of their DVD continuity program. The other offers were tempting and they seemed to be value priced. But, since I didn't have the opportunity to think it through, I decided against purchasing the additional products. The whole thing made me feel uneasy. It seems like to me that if the content is as great as it is reputed to be, they would have had better results if they had given us previews of the additional offers.

Thanks for the opportunity to ask these questions in advance. Your podcasts and videocasts are always lively and informative. I know that tomorrow's will be as well.
  • Hey Paul I signed up for the Stompernet deal ( I follow your lead on most things!) Would like to dive deeper into the "Uniqueness" of the offer and the merits!

  • Paul, I'm curious to hear about the recent iPod/Zune announcements. Dulcita Love @dulcitalove
  • Hi Paul!

I'm a Stomper and I'd like to hear your thoughts on the Stomperlaunch! Thanks!

I vote for Stompernet. I'd like to learn more about it and what the excitement is about.
  • I keep hearing about this Stompernet stuff and don't know much about it, so I vote for that. Thanks!
  • Ian
Got to be - STOMPERNET. Great product with a launch that failed - and continues to fail for many of us outside North America - on a daily basis. For guys who do know how to stomp the search engines, they seem not to know how to buy enough servers to service the traffic - Doh!
  • I'd like the topic to be the Stompernet launch; I haven't paid any attention to the Zune, and don't care to. So my vote goes to Stompernet.
