Podcast Secret Challenge 2008 – Results Are In

by Paul Colligan on August 5, 2008

Every year as part of the Podcast Secrets program (which ends with our reunion (day before New Media Expo), we hold a little something called the “Podcast Secrets Challenge.” It’s a special program where participants in the class participate in a contest of sorts to figure out who in the class is “most improved” in the Newbie and Veteran categories. Since the focus is most improved, not production values, etc., the “Veteran” term is given to anyone who has produced even a minute of Podcast content previously. The Newbie category should be obvious.

Top vote getters receive a wonderful prize package (that includes full passes to the New Media Expo) and admiration of their peers. BTW, the final results came from a voting of their peers – of which Alex and I got one vote each.

As always, no wagering … The results for this year’s challenge are in:

Our Most Improved Veteran Runner Up Is Fred Castaneda Of The Gain Control Of Your Day Podcast. Fred has been an incredibly enthusiastic participant in all things Podcast Secrets since day 1 and it is great to see his hard work paying off. Great job Fred!

Our Most Improved Newbie Runner Up Is Jason Deitch Of The Become Your Own Champion Podcast. This timely and very targeted Podcast is an extremely impressive first entry out of the gate.

Our Most Improved Veteran Is Jamie Davis Of The MedicCast Network. I’ve known Jamie awhile and was thrilled when he joined the class this year. He’s done some very cool things recently and is worth your study.

Our Most Improved Newbies Is Ricki Linksman Of Secrets To Learning Success. Her path of improvement was inspirational to us all and a great example of how Podcasting simply can’t be about the technology that enables it.

I have to point out – not a single technology related Podcast in the mix. Our top vote getters talked productivity, the Tour de France, the world of medicine and advanced learning techniques.

Hats off you 4! Each them are also invited to share a slot in the Premiumcast booth at New Media Expo to share what they’re doing with you.
