iTunes Sells 3 Billion Songs - Why, Yes, I Do Think There Is A Market For Paid Content

Posted on 9:09 am by Paul Colligan

I pretty much said it all in the title but Apple reports today that they’ve sold 3 billion songs. And, yes, that’s billion with a “b.”

Can’t the kids just get the songs from the torrents for free?

Yes.

Aren’t those songs playing on the radio for free?

Yes.

Can’t the kids watch the videos on the MTV for free?

Well, actually, no, but that’s another story all together.

Ease of use, the right price, the right platform, content people want, and, yes, they’re willing to pay for it.
