Straight On Podcasting

Straight on. I wouldn’t lie here. Dictionary.com defines “straight on” as

honest, honorable, or upright, as conduct, dealings, methods, or persons.

I’ll take it.

When we’re talking Podcasting as a media format, I truly believe straight on Podcasting is the way to go. The more flash, the more special effects, the more ‘splosions’ and what not – the less they believe you.

Thoughts?

I completely agree. Too polished, too many sound effects, too etc…it just turns me off half the time.

We’ve adopted the “straight on” approach for our show – the indie travel podcast. It fits in with the shows image, audience and our need to trim down as much as possible. We’re producing from hostels, not studios!

And my listening follows this trend too. Reasonable sound quality is a must, though.
