100 Million iPods Sold – On Demand Media Not Going Away

by Paul Colligan on April 9, 2007

Apple announced today 100 million iPods sold. Great job guys.

People want their media on their terms. It is that simple.

Provide a business or service that provides it – and the people are going to buy.

The best part about this number is that it’s the iPod, the expensive one, the “walled garden” one, the one that my Mom still thinks only works on Apple computers. There are so many things “not going for” this player, … but they sold 100 million units.

Not only are they demanding their own media on their own terms, they are willing to pay a premium for that when it is done right.
