I’ll give free entry to Podcast Secrets 2007 to the most insightful response to this question:

If you knew “then” what you know “now” (in terms of Podcast production), how would your Podcast be different today?

So many things to choose from!

But I think the most important is the name of the podcast, ensuring that it is engaging but also explains to the browsers what the show is about. I have had to learn the power of the subtitle!

Time. I wish that I had known when I started the amount of time needed to create a quality product. Especially for those of us that have basically no experience sitting in front of a microphone and recording something. I’ve done my fair share of public speaking, but not like this.

I know that there are a few podcasters that can just sit down and record with no prep time. And they sound great. I also know that there are a great many of us that sit down and record with no prep time and sound really, really terrible. At that point, we’re not podcasting. We’re blabbercasting. It takes time to create something that will have at least a little “meat” in it. For me, that has been the rudest awakening since I started last year.

That along with the fact that I’m absolutely having a blast being a podcaster!
