Audio Acrobat – Any Experience?

by Paul Colligan on July 20, 2006

So I’ve been poking around the 30 day free trial of Audio Acrobat (affiliate link – why not, eh ;-) ) and am pretty intrigued.

The idea to be able to call in your Podcast is a pretty cool one.

Anyone with any experience on this service?

  • I love my Audio Acrobat account. You cannot beat the price and the ease of interface. I highly recommend it!
  • I like Audio Acrobat and used it for about 6-months. I stopped using it only because I got something else to record my conference calls. Otherwise, I would've stuck with them.

I too never used their podcasting services because I have my own feed set up. Otherwise, it's very useful for those who are starting out with podcasting. You can use it as a comment line, to record interviews, to record teleclasses, anything where you need to record someone who's not in the same city as you are.

Sometimes, I found the audio quality was hit or miss. Not all the time mind you, just once in while. For every 10 calls, one of them turned out to be poor - a popping sound in the background, people sounding muffled, etc., etc. Again, this was rare, but when it happened, it meant the editing process went from minutes to hours.

Other than that, I recommend audio acrobat to anyone who wants to get started with podcasting. It's a great service.
  • The listener segement on their own schedule is a freaking brilliant idea. I'll be using that one.

  • I've been using Audio Acrobat for a couple of years and I love it. For $20 a month I have the ability to record conference calls and interviews - I don't personally use it for that, I have my own equipment - but the option is nice, should I ever be caught away from home.

I love having unlimited recording lines. I provide lines to my content partners so that they can call in their segments on their own schedule. I use lines for listener comments and even for voice mail.

I'm not using their podcasting feature since I already had my feeds set up - and I like being able to name my files using keywords - something you can't do with AA.
