So I’m on the phone booking my room for Podcast Expo. When I mention the booking code of “Podcast & Portable Media Expo” the gal on the other end says, “Podcasting! I got questions about Podcasts.

In short, she’s an AOL user and it sounds like her system has some spyware on it (says everything takes forever). But, she loves the idea of Podcasts, wants to listen to stuff “better than the radio” but doesn’t like waiting hours to listen to Podcasts. She had lots of questions – I suggested she visit an Apple store for some help. Her response

Is that my only option?

I also suggested that she might want to attend the Expo.

    Oh how things change in less than a year. Last year, I had calls from attendees telling me that when they mentioned “Podcast Expo” to the Marriott Reservations agents, most first said, “Broadcast Expo?” or “Bodcast Expo?” Now that the term has reached many more people, I haven’t heard that happening…
