Excellent TWiT Episode For Those Looking For Numbers And Big Ideas

While Leo’s mix was wanting (in quality, not content), the Richard Mix of TWiT 57 is well worth listening to.

In short, some real dialogue from some real players in this very real industry chatting about where things are really going and where they really should be going.

Highlights: Rocketboom claims to be making $80k a week. Both they and Ninja are launching new shows. Jason Calcanis was as Jason Calcanisy is he can get. You even get a fun listen to Scoble toting the Microsoft party line so ironically close to his big announcment.

For those who have stayed clean of TWiT recently, the magic was back for this one.

Well, well, well worth a listen.

    80k a week x 52 weeks = $4M+ a year.

250k download of which no more than 20-30% are opened = 50-75k people a day.

    75k viewers x $50 CPM = ~$3.5k a day, 70k a month, ~800k a year—if you were 100% sold out.

They may have had a week where they made 80k, but that is not gonna happen every week. Great site, but they are a tiny business and I don’t think their business will scale. I hope they prove me wrong!

Being first means nothing…. just ask Netscape.. I mean… ummm…. forget it. ;-)
