Todd Cochrane is Making Some Big Claims – New “Player?”

by Paul Colligan on May 24, 2006

Read this post from Todd Cochrane.

He claims

The RawVoice team has spent 6 months of planning and invested 100’s of thousands of dollars to deploy this new site and when it is launched in late June it will be unlike no other.

Interesting. I love it when people spend money on this technology.

and

Upon Launch this Podcast site will be in need of National Advertisers to roll out media campaigns with a very high number of world wide established podcasts.

This one confuses me a bit. Don’t advertising-based Podcasters need advertisers regardless of whatever technology is shooting out the ‘casts?

I’ll be watching this one – suggest you do too.

  • I'll keep a close eye on this interesting development. Thanks Paul.
  • And yes, Todd, I do often listen to your show.

Thanks for the kind words on my posting style.

  • Todd,

Saw your link. For the record, I don't question your investment at all - thrilled people are spending money on the industry.

I even suggested you might be a "new player" in town.

  • The investment is in the re-vamping and continual development of the RawVoice Generator that will have a host of new features that will drive the site that development has not been free. With multiple programmers working every day on the backend, and the entire team focused on the launch our capitol and human investment in the RawVoice Generator which will drive Blubrry.com is significant.

Development costs are real, you add up the programing cost and the dollars pile on quickly.

The current version of the RVG drives sites like PodcastPromos.com, PodcasterNews.com companies like podcast.investukpublishing.com and other organizations license that engine and we utilize those revenues to do futher development work.

The 7 of us on the team at RawVoice think Blubrry.com will be something special and all we can do is march to the launch date.

I call BS on this one...I have yet to see many people invest $10,000 let alone a $100K....this is just not believable...sorry Todd
